One thing that you will find in pretty much every home here in the US is a toilet. For some, this is a place where they spend a lot of time, while others get off of the seat as quickly as they can. One survey even figured out that over a lifetime, the average man spends 92 days on the toilet.
Looking at those facts, it becomes apparent that issues with your toilet will have major effects on the life of you and your family. Added to that is the issue with the contaminated water that could leak out of your toilet if it is damaged.
If your toilet has cracks in the bowl or tank, the only solution is to replace the toilet seat. If not, you risk getting contaminated water on the floor of your bathroom, and it can cause all types of issues if it seeps into the floor.
If you have some minor issues with your flushing mechanism, this is usually something that you can take care of yourself, and they usually are fairly standard.
