No one likes to be cold in winter. But also, no one likes a really high heating bill. With prices rising, how can you stay warm and not break the bank?

For starters, dress warmer, even inside your home. Some people like to wear shorts and a T-shirt and crank the heat, but if you want to have a lower heating bill, just put on those cozy, sweatpants and socks, and have the temperature a little lower. Be sure to seal up any cracks or holes, near doors, or windows, where warm air may leak out and cold air may leak in.

If you have a ceiling fan, put the speed on low and have it spinning clockwise. This will help draw the warm air that has floated to the ceiling back down into the rooms. If you have hard surface flooring, get some area rugs. This will help keep some warmth in as well. Make sure that no furniture is blocking vents or heaters, as you want there to be good circulation in the room. And on sunny days, open your blinds and curtains wide to let the sun naturally warm up your rooms. Be sure to close them up at night.
