Some people choose to eat out, while others enjoy a home cooked meal. If you choose to cook your food yourself, you’re probably familiar with the amount of steam and smoke that can be generated from making a meal. Left unchecked, this could cause all kinds of problems, with smells being stuck in your home, and a greasy film on your belongings. That is why the kitchen fan is so important. Unfortunately, some homes aren’t equipped with a properly working fan. Just having a fan that pulls the air is not adequate. It needs to deposit that air outside your home as well, and for that, you need ducts that lead outside in as straight a path as possible. The exhaust from your fan also needs to be at least 10 feet away from air intakes, since you don’t want it to be sucked back in. Since there will be a lot of food smells coming out from that vent, it is also important that there is no way for rodents or other pests to find their way into your kitchen.
