Are you planning on hiring a contractor to do a project on your home? Great! Hiring a contractor can often end up providing you a more professionally done project, as well as saving you time from trying to squeeze it in on the weekends and causing you frustration.
Before you hire a contractor though, here are some points to remember
- Always check out the contractor’s reviews. If they have a few bad ones, how did they respond?
- Be sure to get a copy of their proof of insurance, and don’t just take their word for it
- Get everything in writing – every detail possible so there are no questions later on
- Ask if you can see pictures of their work, and even pictures of their crew working
- Check them out on Facebook and other areas to see if they post and keep up with things
- If your area is licensed, check to see if they have the proper licenses
By doing these simple things, you can save yourself a lot of grief later on
