Are you planning on hiring a contractor to do a project on your home? Great! Hiring a contractor can often end up providing you a more professionally done project, as well as saving you time from trying to squeeze it in on the weekends and causing you frustration.

Before you hire a contractor though, here are some points to remember

  1. Always check out the contractor’s reviews. If they have a few bad ones, how did they respond?
  2. Be sure to get a copy of their proof of insurance, and don’t just take their word for it
  3. Get everything in writing – every detail possible so there are no questions later on
  4. Ask if you can see pictures of their work, and even pictures of their crew working
  5. Check them out on Facebook and other areas to see if they post and keep up with things
  6. If your area is licensed, check to see if they have the proper licenses

By doing these simple things, you can save yourself a lot of grief later on
